Anna is 1!

It is truly hard to believe that my baby is 1.  This last year has been so crazy for us and it just went by so fast.  Of course it seems that Anna has always been with us as was most definitely meant to be a part of our family.  As Anna's birthday got closer, Mary kept asking if Anna was going to grow up on her birthday and be able to play with her.  I, for one, am glad that it doesn't go quite that fast.  Although sometimes it seems like it.
We had a big family party for Anna.  Both sets of grandparents, 3 great-grandmas, 2 aunts, 1 uncle and 4 cousins came.  Anna was sick of course, that's a tradition in our family, but she seemed to feel ok and was distracted by everything going on.  She rather enjoyed opening her presents and got some really fun things, but I think her favorite was the baby doll from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Scott.  She was trying to hold it while it was still tied up in the box.  It was very cute.  She also loved eating her cake.  She just kept eating and eating.
Anna is still sick, even now.  I took her to the doctor on her birthday.  He prescribed antibiotics, but said to wait before I filled it to see if she got better on her own.  I think I waited to long.  She didn't really get worse, but is not getting any better so I filled the prescription this morning.  When I gave it to her she asked for more with her sign language.  It was funny.  Hopefully she will get well quickly now.
We are now thinking and talking about Mary's birthday.  This morning I told her we might have to have 2 parties for her, a friend one and a family one.  She was very excited and said, "Well that's certainly ridiculous!"  I think those were just the biggest words she knows.
On a kind of serious note our baby niece, Ayla has been in the hospital since Monday.  She has RSV.  She's fighting, poor little thing.  Hopefully she will be out and better very soon.  We are praying for her!

  1. Will she grow up and I'll be able to play with her? That's so cute! And then Well that's certainly ridiculous! Oh, Mary. You are a character.

I didn't know Anna was sick on her birthday. She seemed like she was congested a bit, but she just seemed to happy and curious and excited about everything! I loved being there. She is growing so fast and she does seem like she was always meant to be part of the family. I just love that Anna girl, and that Mary, and am always so happy to spend time with you and those girls!

I hope your niece gets better!
